According to a report from Japanese newspaper Nikkei, Kaz Hirai will take over as president of Sony this April.
Hirai will replace current president Howard Stringer, though Stringer will remain on board as chairman and chief executive officer. Hirai was promoted to deputy president of the company last March and was in charge of Sony's consumer products and services division, which included PlayStation.
When asked for confirmation, a Sony representative told Game Informer the company does not comment on rumor or speculation.
