Japanese Retailers Are Already Cutting 3G Model Vita Prices

It's important to note that this is not a Sony sanctioned price drop, but some retailers of the handheld are already cutting into the price of the Vita after initial sales were disappointing in Japan.

According to GamesRadar, The 3G model is especially struggling, and the price has come down 20% already. That's a far cry from the price jump that the 3DS was forced to make, but it ultimately helped Nintendo when the 3DS was not selling as well as expected.

Since this is not a new MSRP set by Sony, but rather retailers trying to move stock in Japan, it shouldn't affect the assorted prices of the Vita when it launches in the U.S. in February.
